    Paleo Banana Bread

After starting the paleo diet, I started craving the exact foods I wasn’t allowed to eat. This is my first attempt EVER at making bread, and it turned out awesome!! I was extremely worried that my lack of experience would result in a brick of hard banana bread. But it wasn’t anything like that at all! In fact, it was perfectly moist and delicious to pair with some raw honey or almond butter. My kitchen was filled with the aroma of bananas as well.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 1/2 cups of mashed bananas
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/2 cup almond butter
    • 4 tbsp coconut oil (can use grass-fed butter as well)
    • 1/2 cup coconut flour (can use almond flour as well)
    • 1 tbsp cinnamon
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • pinch of salt

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    2. Mix the bananas, eggs, almond butter, and oil into a bowl and mix well. I was lazy and used a food processer :3
    3. Once you have combined all the ingredients, add in the coconut flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla, and see salt. Mix well
    4. Pour the mixture into a 9x5 loaf pan and spread it evenly through. If you need to grease the pan, please do so before pouring in the mixture
    5. Place in oven and bake for 35 minutes and start checking by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, it is ready. The total baking time should run from 40 - 60 minutes (if you want to make muffins, mini - 25 minutes and normal - 30 minutes)
    6. Remove from oven, and flip the bread out onto a cooling rack
    7. Slice and enjoy!

Do NOT stress okay!! One binge will not ruin any progress or cause you to gain any weight! The worst thing you can do is stress over it and make a big deal out of it! You need simply move on. Just pick yourself back up and keep going!! If you let yourself stress and get upset about this then chances are the binging will continue because you will be disappointed and upset! Just move on and keep yourself going!!
You should not weigh yourself the next day - you probably consumed a lot of sodium which will cause you to retain water and the scale may look a bit higher. But if you get yourself on track, drink lots of water, and exercise then your weight will go right back to normal! So do not be worried if you happen to weigh yourself and it is a bit higher right afterwards!! However, you really shouldn’t weigh yourself afterwards or frequently anyways! The scale doesn’t matter guys- you are all beautiful and the scale doesn’t measure your worth!
No - you should NOT purge!! Not EVER!! I get asked this a lot- it really surprises me! But  purging will do you no good! It is not good for weight loss, health, or anything!! Do NOT do it! Purging destroys your health! It is bad for your throat, stomach, teeth, and esophagus, and it can cause ulcers, mouth sores, swelling, broken blood vessels, and much more!! It is not worth all of the negative effects and it honestly will not help you! Just get yourself back onto the healthy path!
You definitely did NOT ruin all of your progress! As I said above- you may gain water weight but that will go away! And if you get back on track you have nothing to worry about!
Do not fast! Fasting/restricting is such a bad idea! Especially after a binge! Restricting often causes binges. Typically when you restrict, if you mess up then you feel guilty and binge again, creating an awful cycle!
Do not ever hate yourself for binging! Do not give food the power to make you feel that way!! Everyone has slip ups and you just gotta make the best out of it and use it as a way to keep you from doing it again!
If you feel sick after a binge try doing something relaxing and drink some water! You will feel better soon!
You are NOT a failure!! You are never a failure and you should never feel like one after a binge!! Everyone has slip ups- nobody is perfect! The best thing you can do is move on and not let yourself feel like this! If you turn this experience into a good one and deal with it well you will make your self so much stronger and more disciplined! Just be proud of yourself for what you do right and never dwell on mistakes-just learn from them!
AND NEVER EVER GIVE UP! You are worth it ! And so is your health and happiness! You will definitely pull through- it may not be easy but you will make it! I don’t care if you binged once or if you have binged everyday for years! You can overcome this!! It is never too late ! You just have to believe in yourself and find support! Everyone is capable of it and deserves it! Stay strong everyone you’ve got this! xx

Thank you. I get this question all the time.
